Hey Mecs!

Summer is almost over, but we still have maybe 2 months of hot weather. Don’t we all wish that in this scorching heat we could just be naked?! Ha!
It is hard to appreciate clothing and fashion during the summer time because we simply just want none of it on our sticky bodies! To top it all of summer is probably the least interesting period, especially for men’s wear due to fact that we have limited options in stores.
If you are like me and are looking for more than just t-shirt and shorts, here are some few ideas that I would like to share on how you can spice up your summer outfits.
1) Accessories, accessories, and accessories. Let’s face it most of us will be limited to the uniformed shorts and t-shirt look, what a better way to be different than to add some spicy accessories. Some of my favorites recently have been choker necklaces, rings, bracelets, and bandanas. Add one of these to your outfit and it instantly becomes hotter! :P
2) Shoes. Mecs, here is where I suggest you become a little daring. Try to visit the women’s section and find sandals or flip flops that you would be comfortable wearing. Women’s shoes during the summer are three times more diverse than the men’s section. Make that ten times! Where to start? Go to Target! I found some basic black leather sandals for $22 and they look stunningly chic!
3) Small Bags. When I feel like I have a very plain outfit and want to spice it up some more, I turn to small bags such as a fanny pack, small messenger bag, or even a tote bag. Not only will it give your look an edge, but you won’t be stuffing your pockets of your summer essentials either.
4) Light jackets. This only applies when it is below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Above this temperature you are guaranteed to sweat to death. But if it’s not scorching hot, I love adding a sweater or button up, that is made out of a light material, on top of my outfit. Usually I would be wearing shorts as I would be covered up top. This allows you to edgify your summer look while keeping somewhat cool and fresh!
Honestly, I always dreaded summer but recently I’ve been adding these little touches to my wardrobe to keep me excited about dressing up in the summer!
